20.4.–7.5.2013 Poriginal Galleria, Pori, FI

Thingness is based on observations of interaction and fusion between artists and other things. The starting point for the work on display is the relationship between artistic process and automated procedures. Transpires, how readymade or computer-based work relates to the bodily presence and handiwork of a human, and what happens on the boundary surface.

During the exhibition, this performative laboratory research visualizes the system flow of the processes and procedures step by step. The artists are present and working during the gallery opening hours and strive for illuminating, what is a chance collage or a corrupted 3D animation, or can printing be used as a painting technique. Through working they try to capture moments in which mind and matter dissolve in each other, only to be reorganized in a new format independent from its technique.
