Young Artist of the Year 2014 -nomination exhibition

In the autumn, the Young Artist of the Year 2014 award exhibition will once again be on display also in Turku, thanks to collaboration between Tampere Art Museum and Aboa Vetus & Ars Nova.

The materials used by Nabb+Teeri are recycled, donated, found or loaned. In another context, they could resemble trash for many, but the artists have a remarkable skill of putting abandoned materials to new use, to turn something worthless into something beautiful and to give things new meanings. Surprising objects and plentiful item collections that carry along numerous stories invite the viewer to linger among them.

In Nabb + Teeri's latest exhibitions, great meaning has been given to place. Both the place from where the materials originate and the place where the works are exhibited give rise to increasingly more levels and interpretations. Therefore the works change according to the exhibition space, and the exhibition seen in Aboa Vetus & Ars Nova in autumn will take its own distinctive shape only when constructing it.
